This year’s spotlight shone brightly on Martha Wangui, who successfully defended her women’s 42km title with an impressive time of 2:47:17. This win marks Martha’s third participation in the event. Her journey began in 2022 when she finished second in the half-marathon, a clear sign of her steady rise in Kenya’s long-distance running scene. Evaline Lagat came second at 3:02:31 while Monica Watetu came in third at 3:20:21.

In the men’s race, Samson Lemayan from Maralal emerged as the champion after clocking 2:28:35. His victory was a story of persistence and growth — a journey that began in 2018 when he first took part in the same marathon. Trailing close behind were John Musee (2:29:18) and Joseph Kariuki (2:29:36), completing an all Kenyan podium sweep.
